HOW TO START A
CHILDREN'S GARDEN CLUB
PLAN
*Allergy Check In- Make sure you are aware of any allergies.
*Tasting- Taste the first foods from the garden.
*Worm Habitat- Build a worm habitat and let your participants observe worms at home.
*Work in the Garden- Assign jobs and spend time working in the garden. Don't forget to start tracking data about the garden. Give each child a lanyard with a laminated name card so that they know what they are assigned to do in the garden. Have participants assigned to jobs such a watering, cutting off deadhead flowers, keeping track of the supplies such as scissors and trowels, weeding, and have several people assigned to filling out data charts about the garden (see links).
